How do I upgrade Handheld Contact on my mobile device?

We are always updating and making improvements to our applications. Updates are generally released every two to three months. Please see below for instructions on upgrading.

Handheld Contact API (Apple iOS - Includes iPhone and iPad)

1. In order to upgrade the software on this device, you must do it through the 'App Store' software.
2. Open Safari.
3. Go to: www.handheldcontact.com/api and this will redirect you to the Handheld Contact API app on the Apple App Store.
4. You can also go directly to Apple App Store software and click on 'Search' in lower right corner. Search for 'Handheld Contact API', then click on 'Update'.
5. Enter the Apple ID (if necessary) and then the download/upgrade will begin.
6. No reboot is required.

Handheld Contact API (Android)

1. In order to upgrade the software on this device, you must do it from the Google Play Store software.
2. Open the internet browser (native or Chrome) and visit: www.handheldcontact.com/api and this will redirect you to the Handheld Contact API app on the Google Play Store.
3. You can also go directly to the Google Play Store app, open the upper right menu for your Google account. Choose 'Manage apps & device'. Under the 'Updates' section, you should find Handheld Contact API in the list.
4. Tap on Update to install.
5. No reboot is required.

Handheld Contact Classic (Apple iOS - Includes iPhone and iPad)

1. In order to upgrade the software on this device, you must do it through the 'App Store' software.
2. Open Safari.
3. Go to: www.handheldcontact.com/ota and this will redirect you to the Handheld Contact Clssic app on the Apple App Store.
4. You can also go directly to Apple App Store software and click on 'Search' in the lower right corner. Search for 'Handheld Contact Classic', then click on 'Update'.
5. Enter the Apple ID (if necessary) and then the download/upgrade will begin.
6. No reboot is required.

Handheld Contact Classic (Android)

1. Upgrading Handheld Contact will be performed through Google Play Store software.
2. Go to www.handheldcontact.com/ota on your device's default Internet browser. This will re-direct you to Handheld Contact on Google Play.
3. If not, go directly to the Google Play Store app open the upper right menu for your Google account. Choose 'Manage apps & device'. Under the 'Updates' section, you should find 'Handheld Contact Classic'. From there you can press 'Upgrade'.
4. You may be required to enter your username/password for Google Play.
5. No reboot is required.

Note: For Android users there is an option for 'Allow automatic updating'. This is found within the Google Play Store when viewing Handheld Contact (after installation). If this option is selected, then the upgrade will take place automatically.
