This article will explain the directions required to utilize the CamCard business card scanning application and save Contacts directly into Handheld Contact.


iOS - iPhone/iPad devices

1. Download the CamCard business card scanning application from the Apple App Store.
2. Launch the CamCard application. Tap the camera icon and scan card.
3. Within the 'Edit Card' screen, update all phone numbers to include the international access code format (add '+1' for all North American numbers, Eg, +15551239876).
4. Scroll to the bottom of the settings and select 'Save to Phone Contacts'. Ensure that the group 'HHC Import' is selected.
5. Back on the 'Edit Card' screen, tap on 'Save' to complete.
6. Close CamCard and open Handheld Contact. Search for saved contact record.

Android devices

1. Download the CamCard business card scanning application from the Google Play Store.
2. Launch the CamCard application. Tap the camera icon and scan card.
3. Within the 'Review Card Information' screen, update all phone numbers to include the international access code format (add '+1' for all North American numbers, Eg, +15551239876).
4. Scroll to the bottom of the settings and ensure that the option for 'Auto Save to Contacts' has 'Handheld Contact' listed.
5. When finished, press 'Save' to complete.
6. Close CamCard and open Handheld Contact. Search for saved contact record.

IMPORTANT: Handheld Contact uses the international access code format. This means that the '+' symbol is required when entering phone numbers. If this '+' is ignored then importing and syncing to/from ACT! may not work successfully. Also see this link for more '+1' phone number information.
